With the intense pressures on the central Paris rental market, it was necessary to create a fully functioning two-bedroom apartment in 40 square meters, a space that was originally two rooms accessed by a long hallway.  Suspended shelves partially screen a compact but open galley kitchen from the dining area - a banquette with cantilevered table.   One of the two bedrooms has pocket doors to the living area, providing additional natural light to the living area and allowing the second bedroom to double as an office.
